13-23 MONTHS

Cognitive: Follows direction with word and gesture, tries using things the right way, copies chores, plays with toys simple (push a car), identify body parts

Communication: Uses/understands 50 words, puts 2 or more words together, shake/nod head for “yes” and “no”, looks around when asked “where” questions, points (for requests, get information)

Dressing/Toileting: Cooperates with dressing, pulls off shoes/socks, helps with dressing expresses discomfort when wet or dirty, sits on toilet with supervision

Feeding: Drink from cup without lid, drinks from straw, uses spoon, feeds self with fingers or utensils, consistently chews on both sides of mouth

  • Whole milk, water, food of mixed consistencies, foods that require a lot of chewing (smaller pieces)

Fine motor: Stack small blocks, scribbles, turn pages in book

Gross motor: Climb on/off couch or chair

Social/Emotional: Copies other children playing, shows affection, hugs toys, moves away but watches to stay close by, brings toys to parent, uses gestures (clapping, high-five, funny faces)
